When Xiaomi will provide its smartphones with wireless charging technology
Before the launch of the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Apple joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), thereby providing devices with wireless charging technology. Xiaomi joined the WPC this past September, so hopefully will soon see the technology in one of the upcoming smartphones, for example, Xiaomi Mi 7.
The handset will go in for trial production in mid-February and the mass production of the device is expected to start not later than in March of 2018. The landing of wireless charging on Xiaomi Mi 7 means that users will be able to replenish lost energy wirelessly by simply placing the phone on the charging pad.
The smartphone is also said to board a 6-inch AMOLED-display from Samsung, a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 16MP dual camera on the rear with f/1.7 aperture and 3350mAh battery. Some experts are convinced Xiaomi will pack in a 3D face recognition function as well.
