Mi MIX 2 Is Updated to Android Oreo 8.0

Google rolled out the final build of Android 8.0 Oreo in late August, but so far only a few smartphones from third-party manufacturers have adopted the newest Android OS. Xiaomi, in its turn, has just released MIUI 9 Global Stable, based on last year’s Android 7.1 Nougat. Knowing that the most advanced version of the OS would be much more preferable if users had such a choice to make.

According to the official MIUI firmware forum, starting from today one of the best Xiaomi smartphones will gradually be updated to MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Starting from December 19, the owners of Mi MIX 2 will be able to try the most advanced Android software.

In order to install Android 8.0 Oreo on Mi MIX 2, you should visit this topic on the official MIUI forum, register there, if you are not registered yet, and follow the instructions. The new firmware for Mi MIX 2 will be in the beta stage for several months and will be updated on a regular basis. Although no exact dates have been announced regarding the final firmware release, we can assume that users will be able to download and install the final version of the new OS in late February or early March 2018.

However, the beta version of MIUI 9 based on Android 8.0 Oreo for the smartphone Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 may have some bugs, which you should be morally ready to.
