Android 8.0 Oreo Stable ROM may be put on Xiaomi Mi A1. The announcement was made the other day through the official Xiaomi Twitter account.

According to the tweet, in order to get the update, you need to make sure that your smartphone is already using the last December update — version 7.12.19. The new 1107.4 MB firmware, however, will be supplied with the December security patch will be released in several portions.

Xiaomi Mi A1 is almost the same as the Mi 5X, but uses the Android OS instead of the proprietary Chinese software MIUI. Thus, for those who own MI 5X and have transferred the ROM Mi A1 to their phone, they can get an update too.

Mi A1 has a 5.5-inch display (1920×1080), 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. It is supported by Snapdragon 625. In addition to pure Android, another feature of the phone is its dual 12-megapixel rear camera — the same as on the Mi 6. Also, there is a 5-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 3080mAh battery, a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a fingerprint reader on the rear panel.
